TIPS FOR TAKING TESTS

Before the Test

• Get a good night’s sleep.
• Eat something healthy for breakfast
• Prepare your supplies: pencils, highlighters, calculators and any other materials you are allowed to bring into the test classroom
• Be on time to school

During the test

• Listen to your teacher/ test monitor as they provide useful instructions and directions
• Read all directions carefully
• Ask the instructor for clarification if needed
• Skim through the entire test before you begin
• Budget your time
• Answer what you know first
• When you get stuck, identify the problem and move on
• Concentrate on the test
• Stay relaxed
• Take deep breaths
• Mark multiple choice answers clearly and consistently
• Write legibly
• Proofread your work

1. Restart Laptops: 
   Every student should restart their laptop a few times a week.
    
2. Check for Technical Issues:
   Please get help if experiencing technical problems before testing so they can fix/ replace laptops if needed.
    
3. Verify the DRC Application:
   • Check that the DRC application is installed.
   • Test by typing “DRC INSIGHT” into the search bar at the bottom-left of their laptop.
   • If the application is missing, please notify the tech office so it can be installed.
      
4. Close Microsoft Teams:
   Make sure to fully close the Teams app, as it causes issues during testing.
    
5. Chargers & Devices:
   Please bring chargers and have their laptops fully charged on testing day.
